Springtime baby photography session in Notting Hill
Annual photo shoots as your baby grows up
I first met Laleh and her beautiful family when I photographed her baby son when he was only a few days old. I was so thrilled to arrange a second baby photography session in Notting Hill to celebrate his first birthday.
Arranging annual sessions does take a bit of organisation and forward planning but it’s one of those things that, as time goes by, becomes one of the greatest gifts you can give your children. Having beautiful photographs that mark the milestones is an amazing thing for the children to take forward into adulthood.
Of course, we all take so many pictures now, phones are with us every day. I feel that this has made the rational for having professional photos taken stronger rather than weaker. Thousands of snapshots sit on our phones never to get printed out and never to get sorted out (I’m as guilty as anyone of this and I’m used to sorting pictures). It’s hard to curate this constant stream, hard to know where to start with organising them and often once printed the quality of the images is disappointing. Phone cameras are amazing, but they are still a very long way from the quality produced by a professional level DSLR.
However, having an annual photo shoot that is planned and executed to perfection, that results in beautiful prints and albums that will be treasured, these are the pictures that will last.
Looking back at your pictures
I love the idea that Laleh and Patrick will look back on my pictures and remember Syavash when he was one. They will see his cheeky smile and be reminded of his inquisitive personality, so full of giggles as we played indoors and then explored the park.
I love the idea that their hearts will melt at the picture of him sleeping in his buggy, an everyday moment and so often the type of thing we don’t record in pictures. But, photographed well, a beautiful memory. That comfortable snooze, arms behind his head – it’s the kind of pose that I imagine they will see again when he is a teenager. They will be able to look back and compare, this is what family photography is all about.
All my sessions contain a mix of these documentary images alongside portraits and family shots. I like to make sure you get the very best pictures from your session and lovely variety in your images.
Do read more about my baby photography and find out how it works it works. Do take a look at the galleries or flick through some blog posts to get a really good feel for the pictures. If you like what you see, and I hope you will like what you see, then do get in touch I’d love to hear from you.
