Child and Family Photography in Richmond TW9 and TW10
Family photography in Richmond and Richmond Park
I love travelling down to Richmond in Surrey to take children and family portraits. Richmond Park is one of the most beautiful parks I have ever visited and it’s such a great location for relaxed child and family portraits.
My business is based around repeat customers, I love to see my families again and again, visiting each year or every few years to update their pictures and create a wonderful set of images that will document their children’s young lives.
Since I started my award-winning family photography business in 2003 I’ve spent so much time in TW9 and TW10 exploring the parks, meeting lovely families and taking beautiful pictures that now adorn my client’s homes.
Often these pictures will centre around the family home and also a local park that is part of the children’s lives. It’s great to photograph the kids climbing their favourite trees and doing all their favourite things to create beautiful child and family photography in Richmond.
How the sessions work
My family photography sessions are really relaxed and a lot of fun. We spend a morning together taking pictures so there is never any rush. Shy children are given the time and space they need to adjust to a new person while boisterous kids can enter straight into games. We play it by ear on the day and work around your children and their needs. I’m as confident photographing one child as I am with a family of five, the more the merrier.
I’m also completely confident photographing indoors and I find that it’s lovely to take some pictures in your home as this is the centre of your children’s worlds.
It’s lovely to see their toys and their bedrooms and take pictures that will act as an anchor as they grow up.
Whatever your children love to do whether that’s baking biscuits or climbing trees, whether they like building dens or building Lego, we can make sure the pictures really capture their personalities and are both beautiful and meaningful to you as a family.
Family photography for memories
When I think back to my childhood park I have so many memories of days there with my parents when I was little and with my friends as a teenager. One picture, of me on my bike (a birthday present when I was seven), can take me on a magical journey through my memories.
This is just the kind of picture I like to take for my clients, shots that the parents will love now and want to hang on the wall but also that the children will look
back on and remember so many different days, so much time with their families and the fun they all had together. Have a think about what you want to remember, these will be the starting points for planning our child and family photography session in Richmond.

We had a lovely family shooting with Helen last October. I found her website online and immediately fell in love with her black and white photos. I knew that was the style I was looking for. We had a wonderful experience on the day of the shooting, Helen has a delicate and warm approach and our son loved her (he still talks about her!). He was 20 months back then and Helen managed to give him one of the funniest morning he has ever had. Needless to say, the result was outstanding. The photos she took will be with us forever and they represent the essence of our little family.
