Just One – Thomas

We have a new type of post on the blog today – ‘Just One’, a sneak preview from my most recent shoot.

Kate and I have been discussing adding something like this to the photoblog for a while – after Kate’s wedding, we were both guilty of searching her photographer’s blog every day as we were so excited to see the pictures.

Like us, families who have recently had a portrait session tell us that they are bursting to see just a glimpse of what is to come and so here we are – ‘just one’ image from yesterday’s wonderful photo shoot with baby Thomas in Balham, South London.

This image caught my eye when I was downloading the pictures from the shoot. I love everything about it – Dad’s hand holding baby Thomas and baby Thomas holding his Dad’s hand. It’s such a tender moment and shows a wonderful closeness, as well as emphasising how tiny Thomas is. This capturing of a fleeting moment in time – with all its emotion, closeness and family ties – is what photography is all about for me.
