Just One – Joshua – newborn baby and family photography in Surrey

I absolutely love this picture of Stephanie and Joshua from our newborn and family photography session in Banstead in Surrey. It’s such a tender moment.

Newborn photography is like nothing else – it’s hard to describe just how priviledged I feel to be invited into people’s homes to photograph their tiny babies. I am often one of the first visitors and I get to share the moments of wonder and excitement, capturing the emotions and the absolute unconditional love that parents feel for their new babies in images that they will keep and treasure for years to come.

I love to photograph families with newborns in as natural a manner as possible, keeping posing to a minimum, rather capturing the moments as they occur – the stroke of the head, the fingers entwined, adult and child together, the tender kiss.

For me, this shot has it all – beautiful light and such a tender feeling. There really is nothing more wonderfully calming than a sleeping newborn and that moment – that kiss – that holds in it a well of emotion of love and wonder. I love how absolutely beautiful Stephanie looks, and how serene and how incredibly cute Joshua is as he sleeps on, oblivious to the photography going on around him.
