Just One – family and teenagers photo shoot taken on location on Wimbledon Common, SW London
It’s always good fun photographing teenagers and older children, and so I was really looking forward to Graham’s family session on Wimbledon Common with his children and the family’s dog. It’s always interesting to chat to young adults about their lives, dreams and aspirations and what they enjoy doing as a family.
Graham’s children were great fun – interested in sports and so full of laughter and the usual sibling banter as we walked on Wimbledon Common, capturing pictures as we went. Going for a walk is a great way to photograph older children as, unlike pre-schoolers, older children are much more aware of the camera and so there is always a lot more interaction. I still like to capture images that have a natural feel to them, with relaxed expressions and poses, and using the environment to great effect to produce images that are really beautiful photographs which everyone will be proud to have hanging in their home.
I’m so pleased with this family group picture – it captures everything I was hoping to achieve. I love the relaxed expressions, the smiles and the feel of a family unit – parents, children and their incredibly well-behaved dog! I even love the fact that we have the rugby ball in the shot telling a story of this time in the boys lives, when sport was such an important part of any family day out.
I hope you enjoy this preview ‘Just One’ image from our family shoot with older children and teenagers from our morning on Wimbledon Common in South West London SW18 and be sure to check back on the blog for some more images from this family shoot again soon.
