Running the London Marathon – Part 2
I wanted to post a massive, massive thank you to everyone who has supported me running the Virgin London Marathon yesterday.
My amazing friends and family who cheered me on from the sidelines, everyone who has been so incredibly generous with their sponsorship – over £5200 raised so far – and also all the crowds who lined the streets of London yesterday. I had never really understood before quite what a difference it makes to the runners to have people cheering on from the sidelines and the plates of jaffa cakes and jelly babies that are held were ever so welcome.
I had an amazing time and finished in 4.52, not the fastest time ever but as I somehow ended up starting right at the back of Pen 9 – way behind the rhinos and the man in armour – I felt pleased to have moved up the field.
Most importantly though, I enjoyed almost every moment of it and was still smiling as I sprinted to the finish.
Many thanks to the lovely Tom, my wonderful boyfriend, for taking some pictures as I ran past. Looking good at 25 miles don’t you think?
Thank you again everyone, your support means so much.
