Christening and family photography in Ascot, Berkshire

Today’s blog post features a selection of images from baby Archie’s wonderful christening in Ascot, Berkshire. I was thrilled when Nikki contacted us and told us about the family’s plans for Archie’s special day, it sounded amazing – a lovely service at their local church St Mary’s in Winkfield and then a beautiful drinks and afternoon tea reception for family and friends at Coworth Park in Ascot. I knew it would be a wonderful day and I wasn’t disappointed.

I arrived nice and early and took some photographs as the family were getting ready for the day, beginning with a few pictures with Archie which I love for their intimacy and tenderness, the lovely snuggles in his room before the excitement of the day really began. I captured some pictures of the family’s older children too as they had some lunch and got ready for the day. I particularly love the shots by the swimming pool – it looks like something out of a Hollywood movie with the children all looking so incredibly stylish as they prepared to celebrate their baby brother’s christening, it made for wonderful photographs.

We then walked the short distance to St Mary’s church, which was a beautiful building with such lovely soft light. I do love photographing in churches – the textures and the light make for really spectacular settings for children and family photography. You could’ve have asked for a more perfect location.

The lovely service had many wonderful touches, such as Bruce lifting baby Archie into the air in the style of the Lion King, which had everyone in stitches! All the members of the family were included in the service to make it a very special occasion for everyone.

We then headed to Coworth Park in Ascot which was a beautiful location for the reception and the atmosphere was wonderful with champagne, cream teas and even a pianist playing in the background. It was a perfect day and I’m thrilled with my photographs. I do hope you will enjoy looking at them as much as I enjoyed being the photographer for baby Archie’s christening in Ascot, Berkshire.
