Family and children’s photography in Cornwall

Earlier in the summer, I travelled down to Falmouth in Cornwall to photograph Jonathan and his wonderful family and I thought you would be interested in seeing some more pictures from his fabulous session.

We had the most incredible time on this photo shoot. It was an extended family get-together occasioned by having his daughter and her family over from America, and also his son and his family staying. You could see immediately how happy everyone was to be hanging-out together as a family. How the children were loving playing with their cousins and how the older siblings, Coralie and Alex, were enjoying catching-up. Jonathan and his wife Rosemary were clearly thrilled to be surrounded by their family.

We spent such a lovely morning down on the beach below their house. The children got to do all their favorite things from crabbing to sailing, from wakeboarding to acrobatics, from baseball to riding on the shoulders of daddies. It was just magical.

I love these big, multi-generational family sessions as the interactions between everyone are such a joy to see – the smiles and the laughter, the chasing and the baiting, the learning of new skills such as stone skimming and the snuggling cuddles of children and their parents as they take quiet moments amidst the storm of activity.

The family are all keen sailors and it was boats galore from canoes to wake boards, from sailing boats to motor boats. All just wonderful and I know they will bring back so many memories for the family over the years – not just of our day together, but of years at that jetty with all the generations out on the water and enjoying the wonderful opportunities of that most rare of beasts, a perfect British summer’s day.
