Highgate Family Photographer

Roger had booked a photography session as a birthday present for his wife, marking the occasion with a set of family pictures that really captured the essence of the family in a relaxed and natural fashion.

It’s always lovely to photograph teenagers. I find it fascinating to hear about what they are learning, what their interests are and how much things have changed since my time at school. Chatting with Luke about music and how much can be learnt from YouTube, was a revelation – it’s just incredible how accessible so much knowledge is if you want to look for it.

I loved chatting to Claire about her interests and her thoughts about becoming a writer and following in her fathers footsteps, Roger writes as R.N. Morris and I’m currently loving his novel, A Vengeful Longing, set in 1868 St Petersburg and featuring the investigator Porfiry Petrovich from Crime and Punishment . It will also inspire me to actually read Crime and Punishment – one of those books I’ve always meant to sit down with and have never quite got around to doing so. I love this about family photography. I go to take photographs and come back with a reading list, – just perfect for an avid bibliophile.

We had a great time taking pictures in Highgate Woods, using different areas for different types of images. I was sure to take a selection of family photographs, individual portraits, and lovely shots of the family enjoying a day out together. I’m thrilled with the pictures. They are just what I was after – lovely natural images of teenagers and their parents appreciating time together. I hope you like them too, today’s set of family photographs from Highgate woods in North London.
