Family Photo Shoot with Big Ben

The last few years have seen an increase in clients booking family photo shoots when visiting London on vacation and I am loving this new addition to the work that I do. We all want beautiful pictures of our holidays, so we can look back and remember the fun things we did and the amazing places we saw. Usually though, one member of the family is taking all the pictures and so missing from the story. This is where booking a family photographer is such a great idea, this way everyone is in the pictures and utilising the photographer’s local knowledge means fantastic pictures and a brilliant day.
Family Photos with Big Ben
I was thrilled when Emma booked me for her family photo shoot when she visited London earlier this summer. I could tell from our emails that I was going to have a wonderful time, there was such a fun vibe.
We started with some pictures by Big Ben and it was so fun to see the children’s personalities shining through in the pictures. The shot of the three kids on the wall is an all-time favourite from this iconic location. I love how two of the kids are looking at the camera and laughing while the third is looking at Big Ben, not entirely sure about proceedings but also – Why look at the photographer when you could be looking at one of the most famous buildings in the world?
It didn’t take long though before we were all having a great time, playing games and exploring. The kids were such fun and I loved photographing them.
The London Eye – a great location for pictures
Moving along the Southbank our next stop was the London Eye, one of the most famous landmarks of London. It’s hard to believe it’s only been part of our skyline since 1999. I can remember it going up and the excitement of riding in it for the first time.
The playground nearby was the perfect spot for some fun games and a snack while we worked out our next destination.
Buckingham Palace
When visiting London a trip to Buckingham Palace is a must and while it’s a challenge to take photos there, we got some smashing shots that will bring back so many memories for the family.
A fun day from start to finish
It was a great day from start to finish and I’m really looking forward to sharing the full set of images with the family soon.
