Just One – Toby – Children’s and family photography in Amersham
I was so thrilled to hear from Jane again. I had first met Jane, her husband Ben and their beautiful 16 month old son Toby back in 2010 at their lovely Amersham home. I was so thrilled to be invited back to see them again and update their photographs of Toby, and to also meet the new additions to the family – Cleo and baby Orla. I love travelling outside London and Amersham is such a beautiful part of the world, a perfect setting for our children’s and family photographs.
I arrived bright and early, and after a cup of coffee we decided we would head straight out to the local woods while all the children were wide awake and full of beans. We had a great time there before heading back home (there will be much more said about the woods, the den, playing ‘what’s the time, Mr Gruffalo?’ and our other exciting adventures in my full blog post to follow soon).
The ‘Just One’ shot that caught my eye though was this image taken in the family’s back garden. We headed home from the woods mid-morning so that baby Orla could have a sleep and after fuelling the older children with biscuits, we headed out to the garden. This tree is just fabulous and Ben helped Toby climb it for the first time!
Isn’t the expression on Toby’s face magical? He’s so pleased, so proud and so excited to be up at the top of the tree for the first time. I thought it was just wonderful and I’m thrilled to have captured that look of accomplishment and joy.
I do hope you enjoy this preview image and I look forward to sharing some more pictures from our wonderful morning photographing baby Orla, Toby and Cleo and the whole family together in Amersham, Buckinghamshire on the blog soon.
