Underwater children’s portrait photography in Holland Park, London
It’s my birthday today so I thought I’d post some pictures from a rather different shoot I did towards the end of last year. I had been wanting to try out some underwater pictures for a while and so when I arranged a portrait session with one of my regular autumn families, I suggested that we might spend an hour or so of our time trying some pictures of the boys in the pool.
It was amazing fun! Although I did suddenly remember that I am actually not a very good swimmer, and there is a reason that diving goggles cover your nose (I had bought swimming goggles rather than fancy prescription diving goggles, which led to a lot of coughing and spluttering in the water). Even with my occasional moments of panic and vows to get swimming lessons as soon as we move house, it was such an enjoyable shoot.
So, here we go, something completely different – underwater black and white children’s portrait photography taken on-location in Holland Park, London. This is definitely something I’d be keen to do again, if anyone else will let me play in their pool!
