Baby Photographer Sevenoaks

Baby Olivia was exactly four months old when we met for our family photo shoot in Sevenoaks recently. I had been really looking forward to the session as Olivia is the newest niece of one of my favourite clients – I knew we were going to have a lovely time.

Four months is a lovely time for photos and is the age we recommend waiting until if our clients have missed the short newborn window (we photography newborns within the first two weeks where possible but certainly within the first month). By four months the little ones have a bit of neck strength and are smiling which really adds to the variety of images we can take and makes for such a delightful photo shoot, full of so much fun for everyone involved.

Olivia was an absolute dream to photography, in such a wonderful mood and so cute as she played with her favourite toys and enjoyed some lovely play time with mummy and daddy on their bed. The light in the upstairs rooms was lovely, not much of it but as a photographer I will always take quality over quantity and it was lovely to capture these beautiful portraits using natural light.

When photographing indoors we often move around a lot – its great to keep the little ones interested but it’s also lovely to record the different rooms and also the different activities that the children enjoy on a day to day basis.

I think it’s lovely to photograph the real stuff – even if it might be made of plastic – it’s nice to have images that reflect this time in everyone’s lives. In this case Olivia loved her ball pool and so it was great to take some pictures as she rolled around in among the many coloured balls and then sat in her little chair, her favourite place for looking at the world around her. I’m sure as Beth and Jonny will look back on these pictures it will be so much fun to think back to these early days which is all I can ask for from my photographs.
