Baby photography in Surbiton, London

A wonderful morning photographing baby Teddy in Surbiton

Good Morning Monday! The sun is shining, the birds are singing and I’m looking at pictures from a recent baby photography session in Surbiton here in London and I’m smiling so much at all the beautiful images.

Mine really is a joyful job, spending time with lovely people, playing with fantastic children and taking pictures that will make the subjects of those images, and their family and friends, smile and laugh for years to come. It’s a pleasure and a privilege and I’m very lucky.

The day I spent with Baby Teddy was a wonderful one, a bright early start and so much fun both at home and out at the park. He’s one of the most good-natured children I’ve ever met, constantly smiling as he explores the world.

I find the wonder of children a constant joy to behold, how excited they can get by each and every new experience, looking at flowers or ducks, playing peek-a-boo or being thrown in the air, each activity brings such laughter. It’s a way of looking at the world that teaches so much to the adults around them as we can’t help but be swept along, laughing with them as we hide behind trees only to jump out ‘peek-a-BOO!’ it’s so much fun.

There are so many lovely pictures from our London baby photography session in Surbiton but this one grabbed me as I was downloading the images. I love the perspective and the leading lines. The Canon 35mm 1.4 II one of my most recent lens purchases helping to produce this stunning image with it’s amazing sharpness and detail even at wide apertures. As is so often the case I was lying on the floor to get this great angle. I was able to make the most of the shape of the bridge to create this dynamic composition. And, of course, lying down put me at the right height for photographing Teddy and taking this portrait that shows his fantastic joyful expression as he crawls towards me at full speed laughing all the way.

I love this picture and there are so many more which I will share at a later date. In the meantime, this acts as a sneak peek for Teddy’s parents as I prepare his images for viewing. If you like this picture and the others you have seen here on the website and the blog then do get in touch and we can arrange a photo shoot for you this summer, it would be lovely to meet you.
