Family photography shoot in Kensington, London W11
As a London-based children’s, family and baby photographer, I travel all over the capital but I do find that there are some areas that I return to more than others. The area around Holland Park, Notting Hill and Kensington is a regular stomping ground for me (and after much testing, I can say that ‘apostrophe’ on Holland Park Avenue does the best coffee, while ‘Paul’ by Holland Park station does the best sandwich). It is a lovely area for family photo shoots.
I was thrilled to be seeing Emma and Mike for our first family photo shoot as, although this was our first shoot together, I have been lucky enough to meet them on many other occasions – birthday parties that I have photographed, christenings, large family occasions and meetings of friends. I was really looking forward to our shoot and was not disappointed.
We had a wonderful time photographing in Kensington Gardens – exploring the park, watching Rosalind’s faltering early steps (she was just getting the hang of walking) and playing on the wonderful pirates ship before heading back to their beautiful Kensington home for a few more pictures. I think the shot of Rosalind knocking over the tower is my absolute favourite from the session, it’s such a classic childhood moment.
