Kew Gardens Photo Shoot with Teens
A fantastic family photo shoot at Kew
My fifth shoot with Melinda was as wonderful as I expected, it’s always been such a joy to photograph her and this year we headed to West London for a fantastic family photo shoot at Kew Gardens.
Kew is a beautiful place and an incredible spot for family photos as there is so much to do and so many interesting areas, angles, and architecture to incorporate into my compositions. It’s particularly good with older children as they won’t get bored with so much to see. I love looking at the exhibits as we walk around finding great spots for pictures, there’s always something new to see whatever the time of year.
Selecting a sneak preview for my blog I was struck by just how photogenic the children are as they grow into young adulthood. Both so intelligent and interesting it’s always fascinating to chat as we walk around, discussing holidays, computer programming or camera angles as well as what we saw in the glass houses, incredible plants from all over the world.
I’ve selected a few portraits to share today to show the variety of images that I’m looking for on my sessions. When photographing the little ones then photo shoots are based around games and activities, as children get older then shoots do often, although not always, become more styled (I’m always happy to play games or photograph children engaged in their hobbies and favourite activities whatever their age). Portraits can be varied though, can have different feels and styles to them and it’s something I really enjoy, working with the teenagers to come up with interesting and stylish images.
So here are a few that I love from my family photography session at Kew Gardens, pictures which I hope you will love as much as I do.
