Headshot photography in Central London

The portrait session featured in today’s blog post saw me leaving North London and jumping on a train down to Waterloo to meet Darina for our headshot publicity portrait session. Darina writes a fashion blog and was keen for some photographs that really reflected her personality to add that personal touch to her blog. I was so thrilled that she picked me as the photographer for her London headshot shoot.

We met on the South Bank which is a great spot for headshot photography, with so many different backgrounds available and guaranteed fabulous quality of light due to the interesting and diverse architecture which provides interesting shade and great catchlights whatever the weather. We had a great day for our headshot photo session with beautiful soft overcast light working to really highlight Darina’s incredible bone structure

The shoot was great fun. One of the things I like best about being a photographer is that I have the opportunity to meet so many interesting people and have such fascinating conversations. It was great to chat and laugh as we took Darina’s headshot photographs with the conversation never flagging and jumping from topic-to-topic like wildfire, from the best cities to study in to favourite artists, from the benefits of a distressed brick wall for a portrait backdrop to the diverse offerings of the Oxo gallery, via Primark and the state of the world art market. It was a fascinating couple of hours.

We had a great time and it resulted in some great photographs. Here are a few of my favourites from Darina’s headshot photography session in London.
