I’m thrilled to be sharing this wonderful newborn photography shoot in Primrose Hill on the blog today. I’ve been lucky enough to work with this lovely family for three years now, we first me for the newborn session for their eldest boy back in 2021, one of my favourite newborn sessions I’ve ever done and the start of a beautiful friendship
Fast forward three years and seven photo shoots and we were together again, celebrating and recording the birth of their second son. Six weeks old at the time of our photo shoot he was an absolute dream, sleeping soundly for much of the day and then fixing me with a penetrating stare when he woke up. I can’t wait to get to know him more over the next few years, I bet he’s going to be as much of a wonderful and fun character as his amazing older brother
Siblings on newborn photo shoots
I always love how newborn sessions with older children have a level of delightful chaos that is like nothing else. Older children so exciting by a younger sibling, I love the idea of all the fun, laughter, and mischief making, they will get up to together.
Using window light for beautiful pictures
Taking pictures of parents with their little one we recreated an image we’d taken on their eldest newborn session, backlit by the window a lovely soft silhouette, it will be so fun to hang the two together
Tender moments on an at home newborn photo shoot
Little moments always make my heart sing. The glance between people or the stroke of a baby’s head. The pure love and tenderness of a parent for their child is like nothing else and such a privilege for me to photograph
Primrose Hill for some outdoor newborn pictures
As it was a sunny day we headed outside for a bit, to grab some lunch and take some beautiful outdoor images. I really enjoy outdoor newborn photographs as they are a little different from the norm and there is something so special about including nature in these images which celebrate new life. It was a windy day which but beautiful and lovely to get this extra variety to our images
Including the extended family
We were lucky on this session to be joined by a dear family friend too, godmother to the eldest and so much fun. I wish she could join me on every session as that extra pair of hands made such a difference. I love the pictures I’ve taken of her with her godchildren, images to treasure.
It was a fabulous day, and I can’t wait to share the full set of images with the family.
