Your Family Photo Shoot in Notting Hill
As a London based family photographer I am a frequent visitor to beautiful Notting Hill to photograph children and families. I’d be delighted to visit you there to photograph your family in my distinctive relaxed and natural style.
My family photography is designed to capture your life as you live it. We photograph in your own home or at one of the local parks to you — wherever you like to go as a family. Notting Hill has so many great options from the stunning Holland Park and Kensington Gardens to the wonderful garden squares such as Ladbroke Square Gardens and Kensington Square Gardens. It’s great to photograph in places that you regularly go as a family as then, when you look back on these pictures, you don’t remember the photo shoot but rather the time when the children were young. You can think back to the days spent teaching the children to ride their bikes in Holland Park or the hours spent feeding the ducks and geese on the lake in Kensington Gardens. Images that reflect your daily lives will have such resonance when the children grow up.
How your Family Portrait session works
Sessions last a morning and we can do so many things in that time — if the weather is nice we can head out for your family portraits, if it’s less good we can stay indoors and photograph in your home, or we can do a combination of both which can be lovely to get a really varied set of images for you.
If you would like to get more of an idea of how the sessions work and the type and variety of imagery that I produce then do look at the children and family galleries on the website or click through to the blog where you will find over 400 posts to give you a great idea of the style and consistency of my pictures or check out the reviews page to see what other clients have said.
Helen Bartlett is a Canon Ambassador since 2017, the only family photographer in the EMEA region to hold that title, with over 20 years’ experience photographing families across Notting Hill, Holland Park, Kensington, and throughout London.
We have never been anything less than thrilled with Helen’s photographs. She somehow manages to capture amazing moments that are seemingly invisible to the naked eye. A delight to work with, I couldn’t rate or recommend Helen more highly.
How much does it cost?
I charge a session fee, which is £550 during the week or £650 on weekends and bank holidays. This covers my time on the day and the time spent preparing your images for your viewing session. At your viewing session, you can choose what you would like to order and I offer a wide variety of beautiful options. My unframed prints are £95 up to 12″ x 8″ in size and we have a minimum order of ten. Framed prints are from £395, my stunning albums start at £1,450 and a disk of digital files is included in all orders over £1,995. You can find a full price list on the Prices page.
Frequently asked questions about family photography in Notting Hill
I am a specialist newborn, baby, and family photographer and work regularly in Notting Hill photographing children from a few days old until they are heading off to university and beyond. I work with many clients regularly, recording their children’s lives from the early days until they reach adulthood. I know the area well and where best to go for unique family photographs.
I use a combination of the stunning parks in Kensington and Chelsea when photographing families, and I’m regularly working in Hyde Park, Holland Park, and Kensington Gardens. I also often use the private garden squares if my clients are lucky enough to be keyholders — Ladbroke Square, Campden Hill Square, Pembridge Square Private Garden, and Kensington Gardens Square have all been wonderful locations over the years.
Yes — I photograph all ages, and because I work on location I can work in your home in W11 and your favourite local park. Whether you have a brand-new baby, a lively toddler, or teenagers who’d rather be anywhere else, I’ve spent over 20 years working out how to make every age feel relaxed and at ease in front of the camera.
For peak dates in the summer and for autumn weekends it’s worth booking at least a few months in advance — September weekends in particular get booked up a long way ahead, and are often mapped out before the summer holidays even begin. That said, it’s always worth getting in touch even if you’re thinking of something soon: I work with children, so the diary does move around if little ones are unwell, and sometimes a late space does become available. To be sure of your preferred date, though, getting in touch a few months ahead is best.
This page will resonate with families based in Notting Hill, Holland Park, Kensington, and the surrounding postcodes of W11, W8, W14, and W2 — whether you are looking for a newborn photographer to visit your home in the first precious weeks, a baby photographer for that wonderful smiley stage, a family photographer to record a full morning of play at home and in the parks, or a photographer who genuinely enjoys spending a morning with teenagers. I photograph all of these, and I do it regularly across this part of West London. If you would like to find out more or check availability, I would love to hear from you.
